Get ready for some high-octane action as Frederik Vesti and Felipe Drugovich gear up to compete in FP1 at the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix. Vesti, a formidable 23-year-old driver, who clinched the runner-up spot in the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Drivers’ Championship, is set to represent Mercedes on the track. His previous experience in FP1 races in Mexico and Abu Dhabi, coupled with his dedication to maximizing every opportunity behind the wheel, promises a thrilling performance in Bahrain.

Vesti expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am really looking forward to getting my first taste of the W16 in FP1 in Bahrain. Being able to put all of my simulator work into practice on the track is a really exciting prospect for me.” With a clear goal of making the most of his time in an F1 car this year, Vesti is poised to make a significant impact during the Grand Prix weekend.

On the other hand, Aston Martin will be represented by the seasoned reserve driver, Felipe Drugovich. The 24-year-old driver, who claimed the 2022 F2 title, has seamlessly integrated into the Aston Martin team, showcasing his skills in various endurance series. Drugovich’s familiarity with the Bahrain circuit, combined with his meticulous preparation on the simulator, sets the stage for a stellar performance as he steps in for Fernando Alonso during FP1.

Drugovich shared his excitement, saying, “I’m very happy to be getting out in the F1 car again, especially so early in the season.” His dedication and valuable insights have earned him the trust of the Aston Martin team, with CEO & Team Principal Andy Cowell expressing confidence in Drugovich’s ability to excel during FP1 and contribute significantly to the team’s race weekend preparations.

As the anticipation builds for the Bahrain Grand Prix, all eyes will be on Vesti and Drugovich as they take to the track, ready to showcase their talent and make their mark in the world of Formula 1. Stay tuned for an adrenaline-pumping FP1 session that is sure to set the stage for an electrifying race weekend!
