Formula E star Antonio Felix da Costa hails Gen4 car as a ‘beast’ ready to thrill

Formula E is on the brink of a seismic shift, and one of its star drivers, Antonio Felix da Costa, is leading the charge. The Portuguese racer has enthusiastically dubbed the upcoming Gen4 car a “beast,” promising fans a thrilling new era in all-electric racing as the series prepares for its 13th season.

What makes this Gen4 vehicle extraordinary? Brace yourselves: this powerhouse is set to unleash a jaw-dropping 600kW of power, with predictions suggesting it could tackle the legendary Monaco circuit at speeds rivaling — or even surpassing — those of contemporary Formula 2 cars. This isn’t just a minor upgrade; it’s a revolutionary leap, and the excitement among drivers and teams alike is palpable.

Da Costa, who has already put the Gen4 through its paces in test sessions, expressed his fervor about the car’s potential. “It’s still very early days,” he noted, emphasizing there’s much more to come as teams gear up for homologation. With only a couple of test days completed, he and his fellow competitors are just beginning to scratch the surface of what this cutting-edge machine can do. “Most teams are not running the complete packages yet,” he explained, highlighting the anticipation building throughout the grid.

The buzz surrounding the Gen4 car isn’t just about speed; it’s about the spectacle it promises to deliver. “The technological advances we’re seeing in differentials and four-wheel drive are a massive step forward,” Da Costa asserted. He envisions a breathtaking scene with 24 Gen4 cars racing side by side, an image that’s sure to captivate audiences. “It’ll be something that’s going to be awesome to watch,” he said, painting a vivid picture of the future of Formula E.

What’s more, Da Costa took a moment to reflect on the current Gen3 car’s shortcomings. While acknowledging its technological prowess, he lamented that it hasn’t ignited the excitement that drivers crave. “Gen3 hasn’t been the most exciting race car that we’ve had in F1 for different reasons,” he admitted, but he is confident that the Gen4 will reignite that passion among the competitors. “Finally, we’ll see 24 drivers very excited about a race car again,” he declared, suggesting that this renewed enthusiasm will amplify the hype surrounding the series.

As teams like Porsche, Jaguar, Nissan, Stellantis, Mahindra, and Lola ramp up their testing efforts, the world watches with bated breath. The Gen4 isn’t just a car; it’s a game-changer that promises to transform Formula E into an exhilarating spectacle. Buckle up, racing fans; the future of electric motorsport is looking more thrilling than ever!
