Kevin Magnussen from Haas VF-24 competed in the Bahrain Grand Prix of the Formula 1 World Championship on March 1, 2024. During the qualifying day, Carlos Sainz, driving for Ferrari, set the fastest time in the final practice session. Sainz surpassed Fernando Alonso’s previous record with a time of 1:30.824s, finishing 0.141s ahead of his compatriot at Aston Martin. Max Verstappen, in the leading Red Bull, secured the third fastest time, followed by Charles Leclerc in the second Ferrari. Lando Norris completed the top five drivers. George Russell, the only representative of Mercedes in the top 10, finished ahead of the two McLaren drivers. Sergio Perez, in the Red Bull RB20, struggled and ended up in eighth place. In a surprising turn of events, Nico Hulkenberg claimed ninth place, showcasing Haas’s impressive performance in the practice sessions. Lance Stroll from Aston Martin completed the upper half of the field.
