Daniel Ricciardo has been outperformed by his teammate at VCARB, Yuki Tsunoda, throughout the current F1 season.
The world of Formula 1 has been dominated by controversies that have arisen this year. Despite the drama, the drivers from the Milton Keynes-based team and VCARB have remained focused on their performance on the track. However, things have not been going well for Ricciardo, as he had a terrible weekend in Saudi Arabia. Former team owner, Eddie Jordan, gave the Australian driver a harsh reality check.
Ricciardo returned to the F1 grid last year with the sister team of [TRADEMARK]. He had the ambition to return to Milton Keynes. However, the last two races of the 2024 F1 season have been disappointing for him.
Eddie Jordan recently discussed Ricciardo’s tough situation and stated that he has a pleasant personality in the paddock. However, that alone cannot save him from being replaced. Like all drivers in the sport, he needs to perform. Additionally, there is a possibility that he could be replaced in a similar manner to how he was in 2022 by McLaren.
Ricciardo was expected to be the lead driver at VCARB this year. However, his season started off challenging. With a series of poor performances, he received a warning.
The 80-year-old sport veteran emphasized that 2024 is a crucial year for both VCARB drivers.
The dynamics within the paddock have changed significantly in the past year. Ricciardo was brought to the Red Bull sister team to handle the leadership crisis at VCARB and seek a prestigious position within the Austrian giant.
However, Tsunoda had the advantage over Ricciardo in the Saudi Arabia GP. Taking into consideration everything that has been discussed, the next weekend of the Australian GP will be the perfect opportunity for Ricciardo to finally kick off his 2024 campaign. Many eyes will be on him in Melbourne.
