Antigo piloto da Fórmula 1 sugere que Fernando Alonso poderia ser ‘Superman’

Fernando Alonso, who has been competing in Formula 1 since 2001, continues to be the oldest driver on the F1 grid, despite his contract extension with Aston Martin. The 42-year-old driver has won two world championships and has not given up on the possibility of winning another one. As a result, Alonso has received many praises from people connected to the sport. In response to this, a former F1 driver expressed admiration for Alonso’s skills.

There were speculations that Fernando Alonso could retire when his contract expired at the end of the 2024 season. However, the 42-year-old driver surprised everyone by signing a multi-year contract extension. Pedro de la Rosa, who has been following Alonso’s career since his karting days, acknowledged Alonso’s determination to stop competing if he felt he couldn’t perform at his best.

Furthermore, there was concern that Fernando Alonso’s vision could deteriorate, requiring him to wear glasses. However, tests confirmed that his vision was good, allowing him to continue competing. De la Rosa recalled this incident and highlighted how Alonso stated he was performing at an exceptional level. This led to the suggestion that Alonso may possess superhuman abilities.

Fernando Alonso will be 45 years old when his current contract with Aston Martin expires. De la Rosa emphasized that Alonso’s entire life has revolved around motorsport, which has made a big difference in his career. Additionally, Alonso takes very good care of himself, which allows him to continue competing in Formula 1 beyond the age of 40.

Furthermore, the fact that the 42-year-old driver is already discussing a contract extension beyond 2026 speaks volumes about his dedication to his career. De la Rosa believes that everyone is fortunate to witness Alonso’s commitment to himself and the team.

Despite a mediocre start to the 2024 season, Fernando Alonso is determined to compete for the world championship and explore opportunities with other teams. He has shown his loyalty to Silverstone by committing to the team in the coming years. Therefore, the next season promises to be very exciting as Alonso strives to surpass the younger and talented drivers on the grid.
