Ex-piloto de Fórmula 1 critica Sergio Perez após renovação de contrato, argumenta que a Red Bull está em desvantagem na batalha pelo campeonato.

Sergio Perez, a six-time Grand Prix winner, has accumulated a total of 107 points in the Drivers’ Championship. There has been a lot of buzz surrounding Perez recently. Just yesterday, it was announced that he has agreed to a two-year contract extension with Red Bull. While Perez is thrilled by this news, a former F1 driver has harshly criticized him.

The 1996 world champion openly expressed his belief that Red Bull is at a disadvantage in the 2024 championship battle with Perez as their driver. According to him, Perez does not meet the standards expected to be part of the Milton Keynes-based team.

Currently, Perez is in fifth place in the drivers’ championship standings. The arguments presented by Hill to support his opinion on the Mexican driver are quite convincing. Furthermore, his assessment is accurate, as Perez has significantly lagged behind his world champion teammate after the first few rounds. For example, Perez finished in 18th place in the Monaco standings, while Verstappen finished in 6th place.

Hill’s criticism of Perez’s mediocre performances comes at a time when the battle for the constructors’ championship is becoming increasingly intense. Perez’s inconsistent form is starting to have a negative impact on Verstappen. Despite being a strong contender, Verstappen has only managed to win one race in his last three F1 appearances, which is surprising considering his previous successes.

After eight rounds, Red Bull maintains a small advantage of 24 points in the constructors’ championship. The situation is also concerning in the drivers’ standings. The Ferrari driver is behind Max Verstappen by just 31 points and is quickly closing the gap. Starting from the Canadian Grand Prix, Red Bull can no longer afford to make mistakes if they want to maintain their position in the standings.

In conclusion, Sergio Perez’s performance has come under scrutiny, with criticism coming from various sources. As the battle for the championships heats up, Red Bull needs to address the inconsistencies of their driver to ensure their position at the top of the standings.
