Ex-campeão de Fórmula 1 compara Charles Leclerc ao lendário Roger Federer.

Former Formula 1 champion, Jody Scheckter, believes that Charles Leclerc has the potential to become the Roger Federer of the highest level of motorsport. Leclerc has consistently performed well since the beginning of the 2024 season, recently winning his home race in Monaco and closing the gap to the dominant team. If Red Bull does not win the development battle, the 26-year-old driver has a great opportunity to compete for the world championship. Scheckter, former F1 champion, gave Leclerc an interesting label, comparing him to tennis legend Federer.

Federer, who has often been ranked as the number one in the tennis world, is known for his dominant performances. Similarly, Leclerc impressed with his recent victory in Monaco. Scheckter believes that both athletes share similarities in their respective sports. The 1979 F1 world champion sees Leclerc as the equivalent to Federer in the world of Formula 1.

Scheckter, who has lived in Monaco, Leclerc’s hometown, for 18 years, did not expect to see a driver of such skill in the small principality. Leclerc’s impressive performances have received praise from people around the world, especially considering his difficulties in previous seasons.

In the upcoming season, Leclerc will be partnered with another talented driver, who recently made a surprising move to Ferrari. Both drivers are highly skilled in their respective elements and are expected to provide fierce competition. Ferrari’s consistent efforts over the years may also contribute to a championship battle for Lewis Hamilton.

Scheckter believes that the partnership between Leclerc and Hamilton at Ferrari will be a great combination. The septuagenarian highlights that the signing of the seven-time world champion is a better move for Hamilton than joining Ferrari. However, both drivers are strong and Scheckter is looking forward to the exciting battle between them.

Ferrari has been performing well since the start of the 2024 season, already securing two race victories despite Red Bull’s dominance. The Italian constructor and Red Bull are expected to compete closely for points throughout the season. Leclerc will continue to perform at his best to maximize his chances of winning the championship.
