Recently dismissed FIA race steward, Johnny Herbert, has fired back at accusations of bias and has sharply criticized Formula 1’s governing body. Herbert was relieved of his duties as an F1 steward a month ago when the FIA determined his dual roles as a media pundit and a steward were conflicting. This dramatic decision by the FIA was announced in the wake of a controversial incident involving reigning world champion, Max Verstappen.

Herbert has now come forward to defend his integrity and professionalism, arguing against the bias allegations that have been levelled at him. He has also taken the opportunity to voice his concerns about the FIA’s handling of such matters, suggesting that the governing body has been overzealous or “heavy-handed” in its approach.

The controversy that precipitated Herbert’s dismissal from his steward role centered around an incident involving Max Verstappen. Details surrounding the incident remain unclear; however, it was significant enough to draw the FIA’s attention and ultimately lead to Herbert’s removal from his stewardship role.

In the wake of these events, Herbert has taken a stand, not only to refute the bias claims but also to shed light on what he perceives as issues within the FIA’s management. He has suggested that the organization is perhaps too quick to make drastic decisions, such as his dismissal, without fully considering the implications or the fairness of such actions.

These developments come at a time when the world of Formula 1 is already under scrutiny. Critics and fans alike are questioning the fairness and transparency of the sport’s governing body. Herbert’s dismissal and his subsequent criticisms of the FIA are likely to fuel these debates further.

As an experienced figure in the world of motorsports, Herbert’s assertions carry weight. His unique perspective as a former F1 steward and media pundit provides insight into the workings of the FIA, making his criticisms particularly noteworthy.

In conclusion, Johnny Herbert’s dismissal from his role as an FIA steward and his subsequent retort against the FIA’s actions have stirred up controversy in the world of Formula 1. His accusations of the FIA’s “heavy-handed” approach will surely resonate with those who have been questioning the sport’s governance and cast further doubt on the organization’s handling of such matters.
