Ford is back at Pikes Peak, in the USA, to tackle the winding mountain roads, where it will line up with the radical F-150 Lightning SuperTruck, developed by the Ford Performance team and aiming to contribute to the development of the brand’s electric powertrains.
With enhanced aerodynamics that allow for an impressive downforce of about three tons, the radical pick-up features a huge goose-neck-shaped spoiler that hangs at the rear and projects above the roof. Additionally, there is a prominent diffuser at the rear section. At the front, the highlight is the generous splitter.
Although technical data for this 100% electric version competing in the famous “race to the clouds” on June 23 has not been revealed, the radical F-150 Lightning SuperTruck pickup has some similarities with the Ford SuperVan 4.0, which faced the 20 kilometers of mountainous road with four motors producing a total of an impressive 1972 hp, setting a record in its class in 2023.
The North American brand has already made it known that behind the wheel of this radical 100% electric pick-up will be the driver Romain Dumas.
