Ford is taking another nostalgic trip down memory lane with the reveal of the 2025 Bronco Stroppe Special Edition, a stunning homage to the legendary Baja Broncos built by Bill Stroppe in the 1960s and 1970s. Following the recent retro-themed Free Wheeling Package, the Stroppe Special Edition embraces the Bronco’s Baja racing heritage with a striking appearance package and serious off-road capabilities. Look for it to hit dealerships in January 2025.
This special edition is a tribute to the Baja 1000-winning Broncos of the past and slots into the Wildtrak trim level for 2025. While the upgrades are mainly aesthetic, it comes standard with the Sasquatch package, ensuring it’s as capable as it looks. Here’s what sets the Stroppe Special Edition apart.
“Iconic Baja Racing Colors and Aggressive Off-Road Setup”
The Stroppe Special Edition Bronco stands out with its vibrant Code Orange, Oxford White, and Atlas Blue color scheme—a direct nod to the original Baja Broncos. This livery wraps around the two-door body with a blue roof for an unmistakably retro feel, while matte black finishes on the hood and rear gate add rugged accents. The orange paint—known as Code Orange—is being used on a Bronco for the first time outside of the Raptor family, making this edition even more distinctive.
But it’s not just about looks. The Sasquatch package means the Stroppe Special Edition comes with 35-inch tires mounted on 17-inch black beadlock-capable wheels, high-clearance HOSS suspension with internal bypass dampers, and a stabilizer bar disconnect for improved off-road articulation. Under the hood is the familiar 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 delivering 315 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, ensuring plenty of power to tackle rough terrains.
“Paying Tribute to a Baja Legend”
The Stroppe Special Edition isn’t just a modern Bronco in retro clothing; it’s a tribute to Bill Stroppe, the man who turned Broncos into Baja-winning machines. According to Gordon Platto, Ford’s North American Design Director, the color combination was “chosen very deliberately” to echo the look of Ford’s competition Broncos since they returned to the Baja 1000 with the Bronco R in 2020. “It’s an iconic design, and the history behind it is so important to the modern Bronco,” said Platto.
“Special Details Inside and Out”
Ford has gone the extra mile to ensure that the Stroppe Special Edition Bronco stands out beyond the bold paint. It features special branding inside and out, including unique side steps integrated with rock rails for added protection during off-road adventures. Matte black touches on the rear gate and hood further distinguish this edition from the rest of the lineup.
“Pricing and Availability”
While Ford hasn’t released specific pricing for the Stroppe Special Edition, it’s expected to cost more than the current Wildtrak, which starts at $62,815 for the two-door variant. Given the special edition status and the added features, the Stroppe makeover is likely to push the price north of $63,000.
With its distinctive looks, off-road prowess, and tribute to Baja racing history, the 2025 Bronco Stroppe Special Edition is set to become a must-have for Bronco enthusiasts. Sales begin in January 2025, so fans won’t have to wait long to get their hands on this modern-day off-road icon.
