A Ford esclareceu que sua dedicação em colaborar com a Red Bull em 2026 permanece “inalterada” apesar do anúncio de que o especialista em design Adrian Newey estará deixando a equipe.
A Red Bull revelou na semana passada que Newey expressou seu desejo de sair da equipe que ajudou a liderar para sete títulos de pilotos e seis títulos de construtores.
Sugeriu-se que a partida iminente de Newey na próxima temporada se devia a um rompimento em seu relacionamento com o chefe da equipe, Christian Horner, uma perspectiva que desde então foi desmentida.
Horner foi inocentado de acusações de conduta inadequada, mas a Ford reconheceu sua “frustração” com a falta de transparência da Red Bull antes do anúncio público.

E o Diretor de Motorsports de Performance da Ford, Mark Rushbrook, negou que a partida de Newey afetará a colaboração da marca com os atuais campeões mundiais.
“Temos um imenso respeito por Adrian em termos de sua carreira e todas as conquistas que ele alcançou com várias equipes de F1, especialmente durante seus 19 anos na Red Bull”, disse ele à Autosport.
“Temos apenas admiração e respeito por ele, e desejamos tudo de melhor em seus empreendimentos futuros.
“No entanto, nosso foco permanece exclusivamente no programa da unidade de potência para 2026. Isso não muda apesar dessa notícia, e continuamos avançando em plena velocidade.”
Horner insisted that Red Bull has been grooming Newey since 2014 and is optimistic that their recent domination can continue even after the British designer leaves.
Rushbrook revealed that he had discussions with Horner before finalizing the agreement, discussing Red Bull’s plans to maintain their position as the leading team.
“Continuity was a key topic in my initial discussions with Christian Horner,” Rushbrook added.
“So, I asked him: ‘How will Red Bull sustain success in 2026 with completely new regulations?’
“Like any successful company or racing team, you always have a succession plan and continue to train and develop people within the organization.
“This case is no different. I don’t want to disrespect Adrian because he is exceptional, but every team has a succession plan.”
Rushbrook is confident that Red Bull remains the strongest partner Ford could have chosen for their return to F1 since the failed Jaguar venture in 2004.
To achieve greatness in motorsport, Ford seeks the best teams to collaborate with. We believe we have found the best team in Formula 1,” he stated.
“It’s all about cooperation, understanding the circumstances, and being committed to doing whatever it takes to succeed. Both parties are fully committed to this goal.”
