Ford is back on the winding mountain roads of Pikes Peak, USA, where it will line up with a special version of the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck pickup truck, developed by the Ford Performance team and aiming to contribute to the development of the brand’s electric powertrains.
Based on Ford’s best-selling electric pickup truck, the model that will line up in Pikes Peak is known to have enhanced aerodynamics and increased power to tackle the 20 kilometers of mountainous road.
Although technical data for the 100% electric model developed to compete in the “race to the clouds” has not been revealed, Ford has released a teaser of the SuperTrick and announced that the driver will be Romain Dumas.
It is worth noting that this is the second consecutive year that Ford is bringing an electric test vehicle to the competition at Pikes Peak. The Electric SuperVan 4.2 with 1400 hp from Ford, based on the Ford Pro E-Transit Custom Van, set a record in its class in 2023.
