Ford has put an end to the production of the Focus ST, 23 years after the launch of the first generation, the Focus ST170.
The American brand confirmed to “Motor1” that it is no longer accepting new orders for the Focus ST, and that the factory in Saarlouis, Germany, has already received the last orders for the model, which means it will no longer be possible to order a unit of the well-known Ford “hatchback.”
Before bidding farewell to the Focus ST, Ford will produce a special edition of 170 units, a number that refers to the first generation of the model, equipped with a 2.0-liter atmospheric engine with 170 hp, with which it says goodbye to the well-known sports model.
Although the Ford Focus ST is leaving the scene by the end of the year, the blue oval brand will not stop having a performance range in Europe, and for that, it relies on the Puma ST, which features a 1.0-liter EcoBoost, three-cylinder turbocharged engine, coupled with a 48V mild-hybrid system, delivering 170 hp and 248 Nm of torque.
