A Ford Pro announced that it has developed a new technology to simplify many of the important tasks that van drivers perform while making stops.
The new technology, the Distribution Assistant, allows the engine to be automatically turned off, windows to be closed, doors to be locked, and emergency lights to be activated, which according to Ford, helps companies be more productive by saving seconds per stop and potentially allowing for more deliveries.
This new technology also enhances the peace of mind for drivers and fleet managers, ensuring that the vans remain secure while drivers exit the vehicle to make deliveries.
Additionally, the Distribution Assistant was designed to reduce the number of tasks drivers need to remember, allowing them to focus on deliveries and their surroundings.

This new technology from Ford Pro is already available in the 2025 versions of the E-Transit van and the Transit EcoBlue Diesel with automatic transmission. Additionally, it will also be available in the new E-Transit Custom and in Transit Custom vans equipped with automatic transmission.
“The Distribution Assistant reduces the driver’s task list, makes their trips more comfortable, and can save seconds at each delivery stop, helping them deliver more orders, faster. It is beneficial for both our customers and their customers, as by eliminating a series of small tasks, we contribute to making a big difference”, stated Hans Schep, General Manager of Ford Pro Europe.
