Ford has announced a partnership with the electric vehicle charging platform Electroverse, from Octopus Energy, which will provide greater convenience and value to its public charging offering for Ford’s private and commercial customers.
Starting in October, Ford customers will only need to download the Electroverse app and link their Ford account to access over one million chargers through the app’s network.
As another contribution to Ford’s mission to make electric mobility more convenient, this partnership offers private and business customers even more freedom to charge their vehicles while traveling.
In this way, with a single app and a single card to use the BlueOval Charge Network x Octopus Electroverse, users can easily access over 1200 charging networks without the need to create multiple accounts with different providers.
The app not only shows charging points and their availability, but also presents prices, allowing users to plan their trips with ease. Thanks to the smart route planner, the system automatically identifies the most convenient and economical charging stops along the route.
By linking their Ford and Octopus accounts, users will be able to benefit from special features, including a three-month trial of IONITY Premium for private customers, as well as the option to integrate public charging payments into their home energy bill.
For their part, business customers can also enjoy three months of free access to the Octopus Fleet portal, which offers the flexibility to assign charging cards to specific drivers, discounts on major networks, and customizable reports, including monthly billing and operations with various manufacturers.
“We know that, for both private and business customers, it is essential that public charging is convenient, easy to use, and offers good value for money”, said Sven Pleines, Director of Public Charging at Ford Model e, Europe, in a statement. “The BlueOval Charge Network x Octopus Electroverse will provide this and much more, making Ford’s range of electric vehicles an even more attractive proposition.”
