The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Ford will recall 20,484 hybrid SUVs due to battery issues.
This recently announced “recall” involves models of the Ford Escape and luxury Lincoln Corsair produced between 2020 and 2024. “A manufacturing defect in one or more high-voltage battery cells may result in internal short-circuiting and battery failure,” revealed the NHTSA.
The U.S. regulatory agency has already announced that Ford will perform a software update for the battery energy control module and replace the high-voltage battery pack as needed, free of charge, said the automotive safety regulator.
