Ford planeia produzir novo modelo na fábrica de Valência

Ford revealed this Thursday that it will delay the launch of new electric vehicles, namely a pick-up and an SUV.

Although the delay will allow the American brand more time to develop new models, resources will be made available that will be directed towards hybrid technology, as Ford aims to offer hybrid engines across its entire range in North America by the end of the decade.

In terms of the electrification strategy adjustment, Ford revealed that the new electric pick-up will be unveiled in 2026, as opposed to the initially planned 2025. Ford is the latest car manufacturer to delay the launch of essential electric vehicles due to market demand growing at a slower pace than anticipated.

The new large SUV with three rows of seats, initially scheduled to start production in 2025, is now postponed to 2027.

“As the second electric vehicle brand in the US in the last two years, we are committed to expanding a profitable electric vehicle business, using capital wisely and bringing the right gas, hybrid, and fully electric vehicles to market at the right time,” stated Jim Farley, president and CEO of Ford. “Our innovative next-generation electric models will be new from the start and fully software-enabled, with increasingly better digital experiences and a multitude of potential services.”
