Flavio Briatore Shows Full Support for Colapinto: “He and Gasly Have My Backing”

The Alpine team boss, Flavio Briatore, is leaving no room for doubts as he firmly stands by the young Argentine driver, Franco Colapinto, amidst a challenging season. Despite a rocky start with recent driver changes and a lagging position in the Constructors’ Championship, Briatore is vocal about his unwavering support for Colapinto and Pierre Gasly.

As the Formula 1 circus heads to Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix, Briatore emphasizes the team’s determination to climb up the standings. Briatore’s recent statements shed light on his confidence in the drivers, stating, “Both Pierre and Franco are working hard with the engineers to drive the team forward. They have my full support, and it is our duty, as a team, to provide them with a better car and the tools to compete.”

Franco Colapinto, who is set to debut at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit, expressed his optimism despite the team’s recent struggles. He mentioned, “There have been many ups and downs for us as a team during the last few races. We did not get the results we wanted, but we can see the potential and the pace the car has when we put it all together.” Colapinto highlighted the importance of adapting quickly to the new track to prepare for the upcoming challenges.

On the other hand, Pierre Gasly reflected on the team’s progress, stating, “We are pleased with the points collected in Barcelona, but there is still a lot of work to do to maximize our performance for the rest of the season.” Gasly emphasized the unique challenges of the Gilles Villeneuve circuit and the team’s focus on improving during the practice sessions to secure a strong position in the qualifiers.

With both drivers gearing up for the unpredictable weather conditions and demanding track layout in Montreal, the Alpine team is keen on turning their season around and aiming for valuable points in the upcoming race. Briatore’s public display of support for his drivers sends a clear message of unity and determination within the team, setting the stage for an intense and competitive Grand Prix in Canada.
