Five insights obtained from the agreements of the main riders of Aprilia in MotoGP for 2025.

Aprilia has secured its own ‘superteam’ lineup for 2025, hiring Marco Bezzecchi alongside Jorge Martin. Both riders were rivals in Moto3 and competed on satellite Ducatis last season. While Martin has shown significant improvement this year and currently leads the championship, Bezzecchi has faced difficulties. Aprilia hopes that Bezzecchi’s drop in performance can be attributed to the disadvantage of the 2023 Ducati compared to the last specification. Team boss Massimo Rivola has expressed his belief that Bezzecchi’s true potential lies in his performance from last year.

Rivola previously expressed his desire to keep Maverick Vinales in the team, but Vinales decided to join the KTM satellite team, Tech3, alongside Enea Bastianini. Rivola accepts Vinales’ decision and believes that the remaining races of the season will show Vinales’ fighting spirit. Aprilia quickly signed Bezzecchi as a future bet due to his strong performances and three wins from last season. Rivola recognizes Bezzecchi’s talent, especially in wet track conditions and his ability to perform well on new tracks. External factors may influence performance, and Rivola believes that finding the right combination is crucial.

Aprilia made impressive moves by hiring substitute riders for the upcoming season, securing the second and third place finishers from last year’s championship. Rivola attributes this success to pre-planning and reading between the lines of MotoGP. Losing both factory riders next year poses a risk to Aprilia’s development focus, but test rider Lorenzo Savadori remains on board and is considered essential to the team. Savadori’s workload will increase as a result. Rivola praises the engineers from Noale for their work and expresses confidence in their abilities. However, he acknowledges that their efforts will never be enough.
