Fisker continues to struggle to resume production of the Ocean.

Fisker continua com dificuldades para retomar a produção do Ocean

Fisker, the American electric vehicle company, may be on the brink of the end, and Magna International, the company that produces the Ocean SUV, has made it clear that production of the 100% electric model is halted, suggesting that the SUV may not be produced again.

While Fisker has not yet commented on the matter, the truth is that the company led by Henrik Fisker continues to live in uncertainty about the future, due to financial difficulties in keeping the company active, and not having found an investor to secure Fisker’s future.

The American brand, which has been trying everything to stay away from possible bankruptcy, has the Ocean as the only model in production and recently lowered the prices of the 100% electric SUV to try to survive.

Indeed, Magna International, the company that builds the Ocean for Fisker, as well as other models like the Jaguar E-Pace or the BMW Z4, through Magna Steyr, a subsidiary of the Austrian company, has announced that Ocean production was halted in early March, and what was supposed to be a six-week pause continues with uncertainty about resuming production of the Fisker model.

“The vehicle production is currently halted. Our current perspective assumes that there will be no further production,” emphasized Swamy Kotagiri, CEO of Magna International, in a statement sent to Fisker shareholders.

This is the second time that the American company has faced financial problems, after production was interrupted in 2012 following the bankruptcy of A123 Systems, which produced batteries for the Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid.

It is worth noting that Fisker planned to launch the 100% electric Alaska pick-up in Europe in 2025, a model that was expected to have limited production.
