The European debut of Firefly, the sub-brand of the Chinese Nio, is scheduled for next week, August 14, and it is already known that it will start in Norway and the Netherlands.
The second phase of the brand’s expansion is set to take place in the last quarter of the year, with the new electric vehicle brand arriving in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Luxembourg, Poland, and Romania, as well as Portugal. In the domestic market, Nio and Firefly are represented by the JAP Group.
It is worth noting that the launch model of Firefly in Europe was unveiled in April in China, a compact electric hatchback aimed at young drivers and intended to compete with the BYD Dolphin, as well as the VW ID.3 and the Smart #1.
It is already known that the Firefly EV is equipped with a single electric motor, manufactured by Nio Technology, which is installed on the rear axle and is capable of generating a maximum power of 141 hp. This e-motor is powered by a 41.2 kWh LFP battery, manufactured by Sunwoda, which offers an announced range of up to 420 km in the generous Chinese CLTC cycle. The Firefly also claims an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds.
