The Fiat has just revealed the first images of the new Grande Panda, the firstborn of the new family inspired by the well-known model from the 1980s, and which will be followed by the launch of a new vehicle every year until 2027.
The new model targets the B segment, presenting lines similar to the new Citroën C3 with only 3.99 meters in length – below the segment average of 4.06 m – and features simple lines and a well-organized space thanks to its compact volume.
The new Fiat model features a dynamic and wedge-shaped body design generated by its pronounced profile lines. The family car is available in vibrant colors for the body, one of which will be yellow.
The front presents a compact volume with a new distinct personality. Precise orthogonal lines surround a progressive arrangement of the square mesh that creates a strong and elegant look, generating a pixel score from the center of the upper black glossy grille to the headlights.
Based on the multi-energy Smart Car platform from Stellantis, which is also used by the Citroën C3, the Grande Panda is expected to use the same engines as its French “cousin”. Fiat has already announced that the new Grande Panda will be launched first in the European, Middle Eastern, and African markets, and will be available in electric and hybrid versions.
Therefore, the 100% electric variant is expected to use a motor with 113 horsepower, while the hybrid version is expected to combine a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor integrated into the six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and a 48-volt lithium-ion battery.
“With the Grande Panda, Fiat is now beginning its transition to global common platforms that cover all regions of the world, passing on the resulting benefits to its customers worldwide. In fact, the Grande Panda is perfectly suited for families and urban mobility in all countries,” said Olivier François, CEO of Fiat.
The Italian brand has not revealed details of the interior, which will be presented on July 11, when Fiat celebrates its 125th anniversary.
