Formula 1 drivers warned by FIA ahead of Belgian Grand Prix!

In a shocking revelation, Carlos Sainz has disclosed that the FIA had cautioned drivers about the handling of the Belgian GP amidst complaints from Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. The FIA faced severe backlash for the 80-minute delay at the race due to unpredictable rain showers.

Sainz spilled the beans on the conversations that transpired with the FIA during media day before the Belgian Grand Prix, where a conservative approach was emphasized. Despite the uproar from key figures like Verstappen and Hamilton, it has been confirmed by Sainz that the drivers were well aware of the potential outcomes.

The race at Spa-Francorchamps saw unprecedented chaos with a red flag during the formation lap followed by just four laps under the safety car before proper racing commenced on a nearly dry track. While expressing his own frustrations about the turn of events, Sainz highlighted that the FIA had communicated their intention to prioritize safety and avoid unnecessary risks.

“I always thought Formula 1 should almost like, if possible, innovate and try something different,” Sainz expressed during discussions with select media outlets. The Spaniard also pointed out the visibility challenges faced by drivers in such conditions and the unique history of Spa-Francorchamps, which influenced the conservative approach adopted by the FIA.

As debates continue to swirl around the Belgian GP, Sainz’s revelations shed light on the pre-race warnings issued to drivers by the FIA. Stay tuned as the aftermath of this contentious race continues to unfold in the high-stakes world of Formula 1.
