F1’s Race to Equality: How the FIA is Battling to Prevent a Repeat of Mercedes’ 2014 Domination!

Tombazis elaborated on this groundbreaking initiative, stating, “We do have newcomers, and it is always a risk at the start of a new cycle that there is some divergence initially.” Under this system, every five or six races, power unit performance will be assessed, and those lagging behind will benefit from additional development funds, extra dyno hours, and even new homologation opportunities. The data will be meticulously monitored, with any engine falling more than 3% below the best performance being granted these vital opportunities to accelerate development!

Tombazis emphatically stated, “I completely refute any comment about that being a Balance of Performance,” clarifying that regulations remain uniform for all teams. The FIA is adamant about maintaining a level playing field without compromising fairness.
