Mohammed Ben Sulayem receives necessary support from 30 member clubs in the Americas after being cleared of recent allegations. Formula and the FIA have gone through a challenging period, with the sport involved in controversies, including two serious accusations against the FIA President. However, the 62-year-old was absolved of any wrongdoing by the Ethics Committee of the sports regulatory body after an investigation. Now, Ben Sulayem has received support from various FIA member clubs.

In response to the accusations, Ben Sulayem wrote a letter to the members of the sports regulatory body, stating that the accusations made against him were an attack on the FIA. He was accused of interfering in the outcome of an F1 race and allegedly trying to suppress the Las Vegas GP.

Representatives of 30 member clubs in the Americas sent a letter to the FIA President, recommending that the sports regulatory body legally pursue those who falsely accused and defamed both the FIA and Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

Furthermore, the clubs emphasized that the accusations against the FIA, which were spread on various media platforms, were primarily aimed at causing harm to the sports regulatory body and its leadership. The letter also highlighted that the FIA Ethics Committee concluded that Mohammed Ben Sulayem acted with integrity and transparency.

The representatives stated that the selection of the FIA President was conducted in accordance with the regulatory body’s statutes. Additionally, any external interference did not impact Mohammed Ben Sulayem’s position.

The letter expressed a public vote of confidence in Ben Sulayem by the 30 clubs. The representatives noted that the 62-year-old remained committed to transforming the FIA and ensuring transparency. It is worth noting that Lewis Hamilton had previously criticized the FIA for lack of transparency in an investigation involving a conflict of interest with Susie Wolff.

Fabiana Ecclestone, Vice-President of South America for Sports and wife of former F1 Supremo Bernie Ecclestone, also signed this letter.

The 30 clubs from various countries showed unwavering faith in Mohammed Ben Sulayem. The FIA President was in need of this support from members after facing harsh criticism from fans and critics in recent weeks. However, it remains to be seen how the F1 community will react to Ben Sulayem’s strengthened position.
