The FIA Drops the Hammer on Pierre Gasly for Reckless Monaco Grand Prix Incident

In a shocking turn of events, Alpine’s Pierre Gasly has been slapped with a reprimand by the FIA following a dangerous collision with Yuki Tsunoda’s Red Bull during the Monaco Grand Prix. The incident, which saw Gasly’s Alpine sustain terminal damage after crashing with Tsunoda at the Nouvelle chicane, has sent shockwaves through the Formula 1 community.

Renowned Sky F1 pundit Martin Brundle did not hold back, expressing his disbelief at Gasly’s decision to continue racing with a mangled car. Brundle emphasized that Gasly should have immediately pulled off the track after the collision, labeling his actions as reckless and dangerous.

The FIA’s ruling on the matter stated, “The driver of Car 10 (Pierre Gasly) collided with Car 22 (Yuki Tsunoda) at the exit of the tunnel approaching the braking zone for Turn 10. Car 10 suffered serious damage as a result and had to travel slowly back to the pits and retire.”

The stewards’ investigation delved into various factors surrounding the incident, ultimately attributing the blame to Gasly for the collision. Despite Gasly’s claims that Tsunoda had not left enough space on the track and had moved while braking, the FIA deemed Gasly predominantly at fault for the crash.

Gasly’s reprimand marks a significant moment in the F1 2025 season, serving as a stark reminder of the high stakes and intense scrutiny faced by drivers on the track. This incident has undoubtedly added fuel to an already intense championship battle, with every decision and maneuver under the microscope.

As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Gasly and Alpine to see how they rebound from this setback. With the competition heating up and tensions running high, the FIA’s decision is a clear message that safety and sportsmanship will always be paramount in Formula 1. Stay tuned for more updates as the drama unfolds on the track.
