Lewis Hamilton’s Dream Turned Nightmare: 90% of Ferrari Staff Opposed His Arrival!

In a shocking revelation, former Ferrari driver Arturo Merzario has claimed that a staggering “90 percent” of the personnel at Ferrari were against the idea of bringing Lewis Hamilton into their ranks. This assertion raises eyebrows about the internal dynamics of one of F1’s most prestigious teams. Hamilton, who spent over a decade establishing himself as a dominant force at Mercedes, finally made his childhood dream come true by signing with Ferrari, but it seems this dream is quickly fading into a nightmare.

Hamilton’s multi-year deal, announced in January, was meant to signal the start of an exhilarating chapter in both his and Ferrari’s storied history. However, the reality has been far from the glamour expected. Instead of competing for race victories or world championships, Hamilton finds himself languishing in sixth place in the Drivers’ Championship, without a single podium finish to his name!

The frustration reached a boiling point during the recent race in Hungary, where Hamilton shockingly declared himself “useless, absolutely useless” after a dismal 12th place qualifying performance, while his teammate Charles Leclerc soared to pole position. It’s a stark contrast that has left fans and analysts alike questioning whether Hamilton truly belongs in the iconic red overalls.

Merzario, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, suggests that Hamilton’s recruitment was purely a “commercial operation,” rather than a strategic racing decision. He emphasized that the overwhelming majority of Ferrari employees felt Hamilton’s signing was misplaced, which could explain the current turmoil within the team. “When a driver does not feel valued or an integral part of the group to achieve a goal, he loses motivation,” Merzario explained, highlighting the detrimental effects of such discontent.

Despite the chaos, Merzario insists that it’s not too late for Hamilton. He believes the partnership can still find its footing, provided Hamilton is given the right opportunities to showcase his talents. “It’s not over,” he asserted. “He is just waiting for the right opportunity. He will only risk when necessary, not for an eighth position.”

With his contract potentially running through to 2027, the question remains: Will Hamilton stay and fight through this rough patch, or will he seek refuge elsewhere? The seven-time World Champion has already proven his worth, leaving many to wonder if the current challenges are merely a bump in the road or a sign of deeper issues within the team.

Merzario expressed sympathy for Hamilton’s recent outbursts, interpreting them as an ironic reflection of his frustration. “That statement was a bit ironic to me,” he said, “But, of course, this position is not acceptable for a seven-time World Champion. It seems to me that Lewis feels like someone who has been destroyed by Ferrari.”

As the F1 season progresses, all eyes will be on Hamilton and Ferrari as they navigate this tumultuous period. Can they rise from the ashes of disappointment, or is the legendary partnership on the brink of collapse? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: the world of Formula 1 is watching, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.
