Unstoppable Ferrari Young Blood: Filippo Sala Joins the Ranks!
Ferrari has once again proven its commitment to nurturing young talent by signing 13-year-old Italian prodigy, Filippo Sala, to its prestigious driver academy.
Sala’s journey to stardom started in the United States, where he first sat behind the wheel of a kart at the tender age of five. His passion and skill were evident from the beginning, with Sala clinching his first race victory just two years later. The young racer’s dominance continued as he triumphed in 18 out of 21 rounds in the Entry Level 60 championship in 2018.
Seeking new challenges, Sala crossed the Atlantic to the US, taking advantage of the lower age requirement for racing. Racing in the Challenge of America series, he asserted his superiority by winning five out of six races and ultimately claiming the championship title.
In 2020, Sala made his mark on the world stage by winning the prestigious Easykart championship, followed by another triumph in the Italian IAME 60 championship in 2021.
Despite his age, Sala’s list of accolades is already extensive, including back-to-back victories at the Trofeo delle Industrie in 2023 and 2024. The young Italian continued his winning streak this year by conquering the OK class at Sarno and emerging victorious in a round of the WSK championship.
Joining the ranks of the Ferrari Driver Academy as its seventh member, Filippo Sala follows in the footsteps of Italian racing talent Antonio Fuoco, who joined the academy in 2018. With Sala’s exceptional skill and determination, the future looks bright for Ferrari as they continue to cultivate the next generation of racing superstars.
