Ferrari is gearing up for a major comeback in the upcoming Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, with a significant boost expected that could potentially propel them to the podium. Reports suggest that the SF-25’s operating window is anticipated to widen by a staggering “30 per cent,” thanks to the unique characteristics of the circuit in Saudi Arabia.

The low downforce nature of the track, coupled with minimal tire wear and the requirement for minimal ground clearance, plays perfectly into Ferrari’s strengths. This could be a game-changer for the team, especially considering the struggles they faced in previous races due to technical issues.

In a dramatic turn of events, Lewis Hamilton was disqualified from the Chinese Grand Prix due to excessive wear on his car’s skid block, a problem stemming from running the car too close to the ground. This setback has forced Ferrari to make adjustments, running the cars higher than ideal in subsequent races.

Despite the challenges, there is newfound hope for Ferrari as they head to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. The introduction of a new floor in Bahrain proved to be a step in the right direction, narrowing the gap with competitors and showcasing the SF-25’s resilience in hot conditions.

Analyses conducted by Ferrari’s engineers revealed a significant improvement in the car’s performance window in Bahrain compared to previous races. The team is optimistic that the upcoming race in Saudi Arabia will further demonstrate the positive impact of recent upgrades, potentially leading to a more consistent and competitive performance.

In the driver standings, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton currently hold the fifth and seventh positions, respectively, with Ferrari sitting in fourth place in the teams’ rankings. While they have some ground to cover to catch up to the leaders, the anticipated boost in performance could be the turning point for Ferrari in the 2025 F1 season.
