Ferrari’s 2025 Formula 1 Car Struggles to Keep Up with Upgrades Deadline Looming

The roar of engines and the scent of burning rubber fill the air as Ferrari grapples with a tumultuous Formula 1 2025 season. In a rollercoaster of emotions, the team has faced more setbacks than successes, leaving fans and critics alike questioning their performance on the track.

Despite glimpses of hope, such as a third-place finish in Saudi Arabia, Ferrari has been plagued by inconsistency, hovering around the fourth-fastest team in qualifying sessions. Team principal Fred Vasseur voiced concerns over the team’s struggle to bridge the gap between qualifying pace and race pace, a challenge that has persisted since 2024.

The spotlight shines on Ferrari’s star drivers, with Charles Leclerc showcasing competitiveness in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, while Lewis Hamilton grapples with a car seemingly tailored to his teammate’s aggressive driving style. The team introduced its first upgrade package of the year in Bahrain, aiming to enhance aerodynamic efficiency and high-speed downforce. However, the changes fell short of addressing the car’s rear-end instability issue.

As Ferrari navigates the complexities of their car’s performance, focusing on refining handling through targeted updates and simulations, questions loom about their ability to close the gap with front-runners. While work on the 2026 car progresses in tandem, Maranello remains steadfast in their commitment to maximizing the SF-25’s potential.

Amidst the challenges on the track, a new FIA technical directive on front wing flexibility poses a wildcard that could reshuffle the competitive order. With whispers of potential impacts on teams like McLaren, Ferrari stands at a pivotal juncture, poised to leverage any shifts to their advantage.

The road ahead for Ferrari is fraught with obstacles, but the passion and determination of the Prancing Horse emblem burn bright as they strive to conquer the Formula 1 arena.
