Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc Reveals Disappointment: Season Start Worse Than Expected

Charles Leclerc, the Ferrari superstar, reveals his disappointment and hints at a setback in a shocking confession! The racing prodigy, who had previously denied any rift with the Cavallino Rampante, now admits to feeling downhearted about a season start that fell short of expectations. Leclerc’s candid revelations come amidst swirling rumors of a strained relationship between him and the iconic Italian racing team.

In an exclusive interview ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix, the 27-year-old Monaco native expressed his remorse over the team’s performance, stating, “There has been a relative step back. I’m referring more to the expectations you have when you end the year the way we ended last year.” Leclerc’s introspection sheds light on the high hopes pinned on Ferrari during the winter, hopes that have not materialized in the current season.

Acknowledging the need for improvement, Leclerc remarked, “We were in a good moment as a team, and we knew we had a good car. It was inevitable that the expectations regarding the goal to try to achieve, at least as a team, were to start from there and try to improve. So, this is why we are a bit sad to see that we have taken a step back at the beginning of the new season.”

The Ferrari driver also hinted at upcoming upgrades, stating, “There is a lot of work behind the scenes, but I think last weekend represented more or less clearly the point where we are as a team, where we are compared to the others.” Leclerc’s allusion to new parts being introduced in Bahrain underscores the team’s proactive approach to address the challenges faced in the initial three races of the season.

As the Bahrain Grand Prix unfolds under scorching temperatures, Leclerc speculates on the impact of the heat on Ferrari’s SF-25. “I don’t believe there are clear indications that the heat can be of help. I think it’s more of an unknown for everyone,” he shared. Reflecting on past performances in hot conditions, Leclerc remains hopeful that the weather could work in their favor, especially after a lackluster start to the season. “I hope that’s the case because, obviously, the first part of the season has been worse than expected, and we really hope to be able to fight back with the McLarens,” he concluded.

Leclerc’s candid admissions offer a rare glimpse into the inner workings of Ferrari and set the stage for a high-stakes battle in Bahrain. As the racing world watches with bated breath, all eyes are on Leclerc and Ferrari as they strive to reclaim their competitive edge and surge to the forefront of the F1 grid.
