Ferrari Boss Defends Chaotic Team Orders Debacle in Miami Grand Prix

In a fiery defense, Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur stands by the controversial team orders chaos that unfolded during the F1 2025 Miami GP, claiming they executed the strategy effectively at the Miami International Autodrome on May 4.

The tension between Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton escalated unexpectedly after qualifying in eighth and 12th positions, but a fortunate virtual safety car situation brought them into close proximity following an incident with Oliver Bearman.

The strategic pit decisions led to frustration as the Ferrari drivers were left stranded with fading race prospects. Despite the backlash, Vasseur maintains that Ferrari handled the situation appropriately, citing operational efficiency while acknowledging the drivers’ disappointment.

Vasseur explained to Sky Sports F1, “I can understand the frustration of the guys in the car. But in the end, it was well executed. I think we did a good job.”

The chaotic turn of events saw Hamilton attempting to overtake Leclerc, with the team deliberating for a lap before allowing the swap. The delay in decision-making irked Hamilton, who struggled to regain lost ground against his competitors.

Ultimately, the race concluded with Hamilton surrendering his position to teammate Leclerc, sparking sarcastic remarks and highlighting the internal discord within the Ferrari team.

The Miami Grand Prix witnessed a spectacle of drama as Ferrari’s team orders debacle took center stage, leaving fans and critics alike questioning the team’s strategic choices and the impact on their drivers’ performance.

As the dust settles on the Miami showdown, the aftermath of Ferrari’s controversial team orders continues to reverberate throughout the F1 community, raising concerns about the team’s cohesion and competitive edge moving forward.
