The Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna F1 was filled with drama as Ferrari and Kimi Antonelli faced elimination in Q2. The session was riddled with controversy as Oliver Bearman’s possibility of advancing to Q2 was questioned due to completing his lap at the same time red flags were raised. After a chaotic restart, changes were seen among the 15 drivers gearing up for the session.

Excitement filled the air as Max Verstappen initially set a strong pace in Q2, only to be outdone by Lando Norris. The battle continued as Oscar Piastri shaved off 0.020 seconds from his teammate’s time, securing the top spot. As the first attempts concluded, Piastri led the pack followed by Norris, Verstappen, Russell, and Leclerc. Lance Stroll, Pierre Gasly, Alex Albon, and Gabriel Bortoleto found themselves in the elimination zone.

In the final moments of Q2, Carlos Sainz stunned the crowd by clocking the fastest time. Aston Martin, equipped with medium tires, pulled off a surprise by clinching a spot in Q2 at the expense of Ferrari. Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Antonelli, and Gabriel Bortoleto were among those eliminated in Q2. Sainz topped the timesheets with a time of 1:15.198, followed by Piastri, Norris, Russell, Verstappen, Alonso, Stroll, Gasly, Hadjar, and Albon.

The Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna F1 showcased intense competition and unexpected eliminations, proving that in Formula 1, anything can happen on the track.
