Ferrari on Fire: Vasseur Hopes Verstappen-Norris Rivalry Keeps Spotlight Away as Scuderia Eyes Hat-Trick in Brazil

After a stunning double win, first in Texas and now in Mexico, Ferrari has set its sights on a potential triple victory in Brazil, with Carlos Sainz in unstoppable form. The Spaniard clinched pole and took the win in Mexico, capitalizing on the fierce on-track battle between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. Team principal Frederic Vasseur is relishing Ferrari’s winning momentum, though he’s happy to keep the spotlight elsewhere.

“I’ll keep the same approach—let the press focus on Verstappen’s penalty and the tussle with Norris. As long as they’re fighting each other, I’m pleased,” Vasseur quipped. “They can keep it up and even ramp it up a bit more if they like,” he added, clearly enjoying Ferrari’s ability to seize opportunities amid the chaos.

Vasseur praised the team’s consistent improvement, particularly from the Dutch GP at Zandvoort onward. The Monza updates have been a game-changer, boosting Ferrari’s performance across diverse tracks. “It’s been a great run, but each race has been a challenge. We thought it was track-dependent, but we’re seeing results in all types of races now,” he said.

Although Ferrari nearly scored a one-two finish in Mexico, Vasseur acknowledged the challenges Charles Leclerc faced while managing tire temperatures amid fuel-saving measures, which ultimately allowed Norris to slip past. Yet, he remains optimistic for Brazil, promising Ferrari fans that the team will “start from scratch” and push for another win.

With the constructors’ race heating up and Ferrari’s resurgence in full swing, Vasseur’s strategy to keep the spotlight on Verstappen and Norris may pay off as the Scuderia quietly builds momentum for an epic finish to the season.
