Ferrari’s Team Principal Confident After Suzuka FP2: “McLaren Not Far Behind”

In a thrilling turn of events at Suzuka, Ferrari’s Team Principal, Frederic Vasseur, remains optimistic despite McLaren’s strong performance in the FP2 session. As McLaren shines with a Piastri-Norris duo leading the charts, Ferrari is trailing and still searching for its footing.

Vasseur, undeterred by the initial results, anticipates a shift in dynamics as the weekend progresses, influenced by changing weather conditions and track evolution. “It was very difficult to put everything together for a good lap,” Vasseur commented, highlighting the challenges faced during the practice sessions.

Acknowledging McLaren’s slight advantage on the high-speed curves, Vasseur remains hopeful for Ferrari’s performance, aiming to compete closely with Red Bull and Russell. The unpredictability of the weather adds another layer of complexity, with rain expected on Sunday and a significant change in wind direction affecting car balance.

With the qualifying session on the horizon, Vasseur emphasizes the need to fine-tune the car setup to maximize performance under varying conditions. As the competition heats up, all eyes are on Ferrari’s strategic adjustments to secure a competitive edge on race day.
