Ferrari Boss Frederic Vasseur Hits Back: Verstappen’s ‘I’d Win Anywhere’ Claim Lacks Substance

In a dramatic turn of events at the Miami Grand Prix, tensions ran high within the Ferrari team as Lewis Hamilton clashed with his race engineer and team boss, Fred Vasseur. The aftermath of the race saw a heated exchange between Hamilton and Vasseur, with Hamilton even telling the team boss to “calm down, don’t be so sensitive.”

Despite the public display of frustration, Vasseur remained unfazed, emphasizing the importance of the post-race debrief over radio messages and emotional outbursts. He downplayed the incident, stating that the real focus should be on the content of the debrief rather than the heated exchanges during the race.

Amidst Ferrari’s struggles on the track, with both Hamilton and his teammate Charles Leclerc trailing in the championship standings, Vasseur acknowledged the challenges they are facing. The team is lagging behind in both title races, with Ferrari significantly behind McLaren after just six races in the F1 2025 season.

Vasseur remains optimistic about the future, expressing confidence in the team’s collaborative efforts to improve performance and understanding. However, he recognizes the limitations they face in making significant upgrades to the car due to the upcoming F1 2026 regulations.

Looking ahead, Vasseur is hopeful that the new flexi-wing regulations in Spain could potentially shift the competitive landscape in Ferrari’s favor. While acknowledging the uphill battle they are facing, Vasseur believes that strategic changes could have a significant impact on the championship standings.

As Ferrari navigates through challenges on and off the track, the team remains focused on finding solutions to enhance their performance and competitiveness in the highly competitive world of Formula 1.
