Ferrari announces Alba Larsen for 2026 F1 Academy: will she conquer three racing series?

Ferrari Unleashes New Talent: Alba Larsen Joins the F1 Academy for 2026 Season!

In a groundbreaking announcement that has sent shockwaves through the motorsport community, Ferrari has secured the dynamic Danish racing prodigy, Alba Larsen, as their representative for the highly competitive 2026 F1 Academy season. This strategic move marks a significant step for the iconic Scuderia team, which has committed to nurturing the next generation of female racing talent amidst an evolving landscape in Formula 1.

Larsen, a spirited 17-year-old, is not just a one-trick pony. This ambitious racer is set to juggle an incredible three racing series in 2026, including her participation in the F1 Academy, the F4 UAE Championship, and the F4 British Championship. With all ten F1 teams backing the Academy, Ferrari aims to build on the momentum established by Maya Weug, who narrowly missed out on the championship title in a thrilling 2025 season.

The F1 Academy’s current regulations allow drivers to participate for a maximum of two seasons, serving as a crucial stepping stone towards the coveted Formula 4 level. After a commendable debut season, where Larsen finished seventh in the standings with ten points finishes across 14 rounds, she is hungry for more. Despite yet to secure her first podium, Larsen’s perseverance and experience with MP Motorsport will undoubtedly give her the competitive edge as she dives headfirst into the upcoming season.

Ferrari’s announcement comes on the heels of Weug’s involvement in a GT3 test, further emphasizing the team’s commitment to fostering talent. “Racing for Ferrari in F1 Academy is a dream come true,” exclaimed Larsen, expressing her childhood admiration for the legendary team. “Wearing red feels surreal and is an incredible honor. I’ve felt their support since FIA Girls on Track, and now being part of the most iconic team in motorsport is a true honor. I’m ready to give everything I have for the Scuderia. Bet on red!”

The 2026 F1 Academy season promises to be electrifying, featuring seven rounds in prestigious locations including China, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Silverstone, Zandvoort, COTA, and Las Vegas. As the motorsport world eagerly anticipates the showdowns ahead, all eyes will be on Larsen as she embarks on this thrilling chapter in her racing career.

With Ferrari at her back and the roar of engines ahead, Alba Larsen is poised to make waves in the racing scene. The stage is set, the stakes are high, and the countdown to the F1 Academy’s next chapter has officially begun!
