Fernando Alonso Struggles to Score Points in Bahrain Grand Prix

The Bahrain Grand Prix proved to be another challenging race for Fernando Alonso as he failed to score any points for the second consecutive weekend. The Aston Martin driver faced difficulties throughout the weekend, culminating in a nightmare scenario during the FP2 session when his steering wheel detached while approaching the final corner at low speed.

Despite resolving the steering issue, the two-time world champion could not achieve his season-long goal of entering the points zone. Alonso crossed the finish line in 15th place, making him one of four drivers yet to secure a top-ten finish this season. He expressed his disappointment, stating, “We didn’t have the pace all weekend, especially tonight. We expected it to be a tough track for us, and we need to improve the car for future races.”

In the internal battle with his teammate Lance Stroll, Alonso outperformed the Canadian driver, who finished 17th. Reflecting on the race, Stroll admitted, “There’s not much to say; it was a really tough weekend for us. We’re not where we want to be right now, and we’re working hard to change that.”

Looking ahead to the next race in Jeddah, Alonso acknowledged the different challenge the circuit presents and remained cautiously optimistic about potential improvements. Despite the struggles in Bahrain, both Alonso and the Aston Martin team are focused on learning from their mistakes and aiming for a stronger performance in the upcoming Grand Prix.
