Fernando Alonso’s Nightmare Start to the Season: Zero Points in 4 GPs, Worst Start Since 2017

Fernando Alonso’s return to Formula 1 has been nothing short of a disaster, with the Spanish driver failing to score a single point in the first four Grand Prix races of the season. This dismal performance not only reflects poorly on Alonso but also raises serious concerns about the competitiveness of the Aston Martin team.

Despite his extensive experience and reputation as a seasoned warrior on the track, Alonso has struggled to make an impact this season. The Bahrain Grand Prix was a particularly tough weekend for the former world champion, with Aston Martin’s lackluster performance leaving Alonso battling at the back of the grid, far from the points-scoring positions.

Furthermore, off-track incidents have added to the mounting pressure on Alonso and the Aston Martin team. During the Free Practice 2 session, Alonso shockingly found himself holding the steering wheel in his hands before the final corner, highlighting potential issues with the car’s reliability. In qualifying, Alonso was visibly frustrated with his pit crew, further underscoring the team’s internal struggles and lack of cohesion.

The lack of points after four races is a concerning statistic for Alonso, who has only found himself in a similar position twice before in his career under the current points system. With the team’s performance on a downward spiral and the looming prospect of major regulation changes in 2026, Alonso’s patience is wearing thin as he demands more from Aston Martin.

As the season progresses, Alonso and Aston Martin must quickly address their shortcomings if they are to salvage their campaign and avoid further embarrassment on the track. The pressure is on for the Spanish driver and his team to turn their fortunes around before it’s too late.
