Fernando Alonso and Aston Martin are set to shake up the F1 scene in 2026 with the arrival of design guru Adrian Newey and a bold prediction from Emerson Fittipaldi.

According to Fittipaldi, Alonso, a two-time F1 World Champion, is still at the peak of his powers and ready to dominate the track with an improved Aston Martin challenger in the upcoming season. With new chassis and engine regulations on the horizon for F1 2026, Aston Martin is gearing up to become a formidable force under the guidance of Adrian Newey, who is solely focused on revolutionizing the team’s car for the new season.

Despite Alonso being 44 when he hits the grid in 2026, Fittipaldi sees no signs of decline in the Spaniard, emphasizing his unwavering determination to win. Fittipaldi drew parallels to his own competitive spirit in his late 40s, highlighting that with the right mindset and physical condition, age is just a number in motorsport.

Aston Martin team boss, Andy Cowell, shed light on Newey’s intense focus on designing a winning car for the 2026 season. Cowell expressed full confidence in Newey’s abilities, emphasizing the designer’s dedication to perfecting fundamental aspects of the car to ensure a competitive edge on the track.

While Aston Martin has had a slow start in the 2025 season, scoring only 10 points in the first five rounds, the team is looking towards the future with optimism as Newey’s expertise is set to propel them forward. Cowell confirmed that Newey’s design efforts are exclusively directed towards the 2026 car, with no distractions or deviations from the goal of achieving success in the upcoming season.

With the anticipation building up for F1 2026, Alonso and Aston Martin’s partnership, combined with Newey’s innovative designs, is poised to challenge the traditional powerhouses of the sport and create a thrilling spectacle for fans around the world.
