Fernando Alonso is struggling to witness the difficulties of Alpine in the 2024 season. The Enstone-based team had a challenging start to the season, with their drivers unable to score points in the first two races. The team seems to be facing difficulties in optimizing the car’s performance and delivering on track.

Alpine currently sits in last place in the constructors’ championship after disappointing performances in Bahrain and Jeddah. The lowest point so far came at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, where one of the drivers had to retire due to mechanical issues on the first lap. This disappointing start to the season has left their former driver disheartened.

The two-time world champion also expressed his belief that there is a lack of professionalism within the team. Alonso pointed out that changes in management, such as the resignation of the Technical Director and Chief Aerodynamicist, may have contributed to this surprising decline.

Since joining Aston Martin in the 2023 season as a replacement for another driver, Fernando Alonso has experienced a turnaround in his career. The Spaniard continues to shine, consistently qualifying among the top five on the grid. However, his current contract with Aston Martin will expire at the end of the 2024 season.

When asked about Alonso’s future with the team, the Aston Martin team principal emphasized his willingness to give him the time needed to evaluate his options. The increased Formula 1 calendar can be grueling, and with the possibility of a seat at Mercedes in 2025, all eyes are on Alonso’s next move.
