Fernando Alonso, the veteran Formula 1 driver, is left “concerned” by the unexpected rise of Aston Martin at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Silverstone-based team shocked everyone with a stellar performance at the Hungaroring, securing fifth and seventh places with Alonso and Lance Stroll, respectively.

Alonso, expressing a mix of surprise and worry, mentioned that he even dared to dream of a podium finish at one point during the race. Despite falling short of that target, the Spaniard was pleased with the team’s overall performance, maximizing the car’s potential both in qualifying and on race day.

The two-time world champion also revealed a strategic move during the race where he didn’t engage in a lengthy battle with Mercedes’ George Russell before pitting, showing a focus on the bigger picture and long-term gains.

Astonished by the sudden competitiveness of the AMR25 at the Hungarian circuit, Alonso praised the team’s efforts but also raised concerns about not fully understanding the reasons behind the significant performance improvement. The introduction of a more aggressive front wing design seemed to have played a crucial role, but Alonso stressed the importance of analyzing the differences between the previous race at Spa and the recent success in Hungary.

As Alonso and Aston Martin bask in the glory of a double points finish, the racing world is left wondering about the secrets behind their resurgence. With uncertainties looming, all eyes are on the team’s next moves and whether they can maintain this newfound momentum in the upcoming races.
