There are only a few weeks left until the presentations and tests for the 2024 Formula 1 season, and based on his experience in the first simulator session, Fernando Alonso has something to point out about the AMR24.
In a video published by Aston Martin, the Spanish driver reported: ‘The most notable place, you go through turn six, then shift up and turn right to go through turn seven, and the steering is very heavy and takes some time’.
Alonso completed between 100 and 120 laps on different circuits, and it is not known which one he felt the reported difficulty in. The two-time world champion also explained the work in the simulator:
‘When you are in the simulator, focus is the most important thing. You have to be so precise on every lap you make, and all the feedback you give to the engineers. You have to repeat the same lap over and over. That precision, that focus you have to have here in the simulator is very extreme and it has to be, I believe, similar to the actual car, as obvious as it may be’.
