In the timing tables, Fernando Alonso had a tough Friday at the Mexican Grand Prix of Formula 1. The driver, who spun out in the second free practice yesterday at the Hermanos Rodriguez Circuit, finished 16th and 20th in the sessions.

With few words, the Aston Martin veteran clarified that Aston Martin worked hard for the race, somewhat downplaying his final position yesterday:

“We focused a lot on race pace and running with a lot of fuel. It’s hard to read too much into the times, but the setup seemed good and we will continue to optimize the AMR23 in free practice.”
