Fernando Alonso acredita estar bem posicionado no mercado de pilotos competitivos após a mudança de Lewis Hamilton para a Ferrari.

Fernando Alonso is in a favorable position to initiate discussions with teams about his future in Formula 1 beyond 2024. Hamilton’s transfer to Ferrari for the 2025 season has generated a series of activities in the driver market. With the seven-time world champion’s departure from Mercedes, the Silver Arrows are now in search of a replacement. Alonso could be a suitable candidate to fill Hamilton’s place. The Spanish driver has revealed his plans to negotiate contracts during this season.

Alonso’s current contract with Aston Martin will expire at the end of this season. This makes the 42-year-old driver the only available Formula 1 champion at present. Fernando Alonso acknowledged that Hamilton’s move to Ferrari has accelerated the “silly season” of driver transfers. The two-time world champion believes that Hamilton and Maranello made their announcement earlier than originally planned.

The Aston Martin driver believes that the driver market has become intriguing for him. Alonso emphasized that he has a strong position for future negotiations within the grid. However, the 42-year-old driver made it clear that he will not consider contractual discussions, at least not at the beginning of the 2024 season.

Since joining Aston Martin last season, Fernando Alonso has played a significant role within the team. The 42-year-old driver is eager to continue his Formula 1 career, possibly until the age of 50. However, the Spanish driver has not yet extended his contract with the Silverstone-based team beyond 2024.

Critics have suggested that Alonso could use Hamilton’s departure as leverage to demand a higher salary from Aston Martin. However, Fernando Alonso may consider a move to Brackley if it provides him with the opportunity to compete for the world championship in the near future. However, so far, there have been no official discussions between the two parties.

Fernando Alonso is the most experienced driver in Formula 1. The two-time world champion remains shrewd in negotiations. Additionally, Alonso’s manager, Flavio Briatore, recently met with Toto Wolff. Therefore, it remains to be seen where the Spaniard will go next year.
