Fernandez grato à KTM apesar da falta de resultados

Augusto Fernandez thanks the KTM MotoGP team for their support, but acknowledges that he has not achieved the expected results on the race track. Fernandez had a solid debut season in the premier category last year, reaching the top 10 four times and securing fourth place in Le Mans. He retained his position in the GasGas KTM team for 2024, while his former teammate Pol Espargaro was demoted to the role of test rider. However, Fernandez has faced difficulties this season with the 2024 RC16, feeling that his new bike is too soft compared to the previous model. In contrast, rookie teammate Pedro Acosta did not have these issues and performed well in his MotoGP debut campaign, finishing in the top 10 in both sprint and main races. Despite his own struggles, Fernandez appreciates the support he receives from the factory and hopes to repay them with better results soon. He also admires Acosta’s achievements and aims to learn from him to improve his own performance. Although Fernandez faced challenges in the opening round in Qatar, he was pleased with the significant progress he made in Portugal, finishing in 11th place. He believes he handled the difficult grip conditions better and acknowledges the need for further improvements. Fernandez mentions that the team has been making frequent changes to the bike setup during race weekends, but he hopes to establish a more stable base in the future. He also mentions the possibility of reverting to last season’s chassis after the Spanish Grand Prix if he continues to struggle with his current bike.
