Felipe Drugovich Shocks Racing World with Exclusive Andretti Formula E Contract Reveal!

Felipe Drugovich is back in the fast lane! The Brazilian racing prodigy, who clinched the Formula 2 championship in 2022, is revving up for a thrilling return to single-seater racing as he joins the prestigious Andretti team in Formula E. Buckle up, because pre-season testing kicks off at the end of October, and the stakes couldn’t be higher!

Drugovich has spilled the beans about his contract with Andretti, confirming it’s a one-year deal, but there’s a tantalizing option for extension that has fans buzzing with anticipation. This marks Drugovich’s first full-time seat in single-seater racing since his F2 glory, having spent the past three years as a reserve driver for Aston Martin in Formula 1. His long-awaited return comes at a pivotal moment as he teams up with Jake Dennis for the final season of the Gen3 era in Formula E.

His journey back to the cockpit has been compelling. Drugovich made waves during a standalone race in Berlin last season, stepping in for WEC-bound Nyck de Vries and demonstrating his potential by scoring impressive points. Now, he’s eager to showcase his skills on a full-time basis, and his sights are set on the future of Formula E as the Gen4 era looms on the horizon.

With the introduction of next-generation cars by the end of 2026, many teams are securing multi-year contracts to brace themselves for this new chapter. The Gen4 vehicles are expected to rival, if not exceed, the speed of current F2 cars at iconic circuits like Monaco, and Drugovich is keenly aware of the stakes. He stated, “Gen4 is actually very attractive, so hopefully I’ll be there. It’s probably going to be quite fast around Monaco and the tracks that you can actually compare lap times with F2 and F1.”

When asked about the nature of his contract, Drugovich didn’t hold back: “At the moment, we’re looking forward to one year. I think there is an option for other years, but it’s something that we are actually looking to see if it’s going to be a good season or not. At the moment, all I can say is it’s a one-year deal.” His aspirations extend beyond just one season, as he dreams of a long-term future in the series, stating, “Hopefully I’ll be there for many, many more years.”

As the excitement brews for the upcoming season, Drugovich’s return signals not just a personal triumph but a thrilling chapter for Formula E as it prepares to redefine electric racing. Fans and pundits alike will be watching closely as he gears up for what promises to be an electrifying campaign. The countdown to the next thrilling chapter in Drugovich’s career has begun!
