Felipe Drugovich Shocks Racing World with Bold Move to Join Andretti in Formula E 2025-26!

Felipe Drugovich, the talented Brazilian driver who has long been on the cusp of Formula 1 fame, is finally making a bold leap into the electrifying world of Formula E. The Aston Martin reserve driver has secured a seat with the prestigious Andretti team for the upcoming 2025-26 season, marking a pivotal moment in his racing career. After clinching the Formula 2 championship in 2022, Drugovich has been eagerly waiting for a full-time racing opportunity, but time and again, his hopes for a place in F1 were dashed as regular drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll remained fit and ready to race.

In a dramatic turn of events, negotiations between Drugovich and Andretti have heated up recently, culminating in a deal that will see him stepping in for Nico Mueller as the teammate of Jake Dennis. This move comes as Andretti prepares to shake things up, with Mueller reportedly transitioning to the works Porsche team, replacing Antonio Felix da Costa. The announcement regarding Mueller’s promotion is expected to be confirmed by the end of September, setting the stage for Drugovich to take his place in the fast-paced world of Formula E.

Despite being crowned F2 champion, Drugovich’s racing experience since then has been limited. He has only made sporadic appearances in the European Le Mans Series and participated in the grueling Le Mans 24 Hours with the Action Express Cadillac team. However, his recent foray into Formula E at the Berlin Tempelhof event showcased his potential, where he scored points by finishing ninth while filling in for Nick de Vries, who was occupied with the World Endurance Championship.

The buzz around Drugovich is palpable as Andretti has intensified its pursuit of the promising driver, with talks commencing last month. The deal could potentially include an option for Drugovich to continue into the Gen4 era of Formula E, which is set to kick off at the end of 2026, amid a significant shift as Andretti aims to transition from its current partnership with Porsche to a new collaboration with Nissan.

As the excitement builds, Drugovich is anticipated to make his debut as an Andretti driver during the pre-season Valencia test in late October, ahead of the highly-anticipated season opener in Sao Paulo come December. This moment signals not just a new chapter for Drugovich but potentially a thrilling evolution in the world of electric racing, as the Brazilian driver finally steps into the spotlight he’s long sought. The racing community will be watching closely as he gears up to make his mark in Formula E.
