Felipe Drugovich Bids Emotional Farewell to Aston Martin, Prepares for Thrilling Formula E Comeback!

Felipe Drugovich Bids Farewell to Aston Martin: A New Chapter Awaits!

In a stunning turn of events, Felipe Drugovich has officially announced his departure from Aston Martin as the team confirmed his exit following the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The Brazilian reserve driver, who burst onto the scene after clinching the F2 championship in September 2022, revealed that it’s “time to go” as he prepares for an exciting new venture in Formula E.

Reflecting on his three-year journey with Aston Martin, Drugovich shared a heartfelt message on social media, stating: “Happy for these 3 years, learned a lot, many cool moments, some not so cool moments, but we take the positives with us and leave the bad behind.” This emotional farewell comes on the heels of his final race with the team, marking the end of an era filled with both highs and lows.

Despite making seven practice appearances during his tenure, Drugovich struggled to secure a coveted race seat within the team. His departure comes as he gears up for a full-time return to racing, having inked a deal with Andretti for the upcoming Formula E season, which kicks off in his home country of Brazil on December 6.

Aston Martin has wasted no time in announcing Drugovich’s successor. Jak Crawford, the promising American F2 star, will step into the reserve driver role for the 2026 season. Crawford is slated to attend every race as Aston Martin’s new reserve option, following his FP1 debut in Mexico last month.

But the changes at Aston Martin don’t stop there. Rumors are swirling regarding potential shake-ups within the team’s leadership structure. Current team principal Andy Cowell is reportedly on the verge of leaving his position, with sources suggesting a fundamental misalignment with technical director Adrian Newey on key issues. This could pave the way for big names such as former McLaren boss Andreas Seidl or ex-Red Bull chief Christian Horner to step in.

As Drugovich closes this chapter, the racing world watches eagerly. Will the challenges he faced at Aston Martin fuel his fire in Formula E? Only time will tell. For now, the talented driver looks ahead, ready to embrace new challenges and leave the past behind. The future is bright, and it’s time for Felipe Drugovich to shine!
