Toyota Motor Europe (TME) announced that it has reached a significant milestone by surpassing six million electrified vehicles sold by the end of 2024.

This achievement underscores the success of Toyota’s multi-technology strategy, which allows customers to reduce emissions regardless of where they live, especially in areas where zero-emission vehicle conditions are limited.

In Europe, Toyota offers a wide range of battery electric vehicles, fuel cell electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and hybrids as part of its multi-technology approach.

In 2024, Toyota Europe outperformed the market with an annual growth of 4%, selling over 1.2 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles, marking a historic sales record.

The percentage of electrified vehicles in Toyota Europe’s sales portfolio has grown to 74%, reflecting market demand for a multi-level approach to CO2 reduction that the multi-technology strategy offers.

Highlighting the hybrid models that sold 5,884,708 units in Europe, followed by plug-in hybrid variants with 165,830 units, and 100% electric models that sold 93,259 units in the European market.

Remember that Toyota is committed to achieving a 100% reduction in CO2 emissions from all new vehicle sales by 2035 in Europe. This goal aligns with the company’s Global Environmental Challenge 2050, which aims for carbon neutrality by 2050 and in Europe by 2040.
